China introduces visa-free regime for Russians from September 15, 2025
From September 15, 2025 to September 14, 2026, Russian citizens will be able to enter China without a visa for up to 30 days. This is a trial mode aimed at strengthening Russian-Chinese relations and simplifying mutual travel. Only a valid international passport is required for entry (valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure). The visa-free regime applies to the following travel purposes:
- Tourism;
- Business visits;
- Visiting relatives and friends;
- Cultural or educational exchange;
- Transit through China.
However, a visa is still required for work, study, or journalism.
To enter China without a visa, Russians need to comply with the following conditions::
Passport: A valid international passport (for 5 or 10 years, not a diplomatic or official one).
Duration of stay: No more than 30 days per trip.
The purpose of the trip: Tourism, business, visits to relatives, exchange or transit.
Confirmation documents: It is recommended to have a hotel reservation, return flights or a voucher from a tour operator with you in order to avoid questions at the border.
