Russia Has Extended Visa-free Entry for Chinese citizens
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending visa-free entry into Russia for citizens of the People’s Republic of China until 31 December 2027.
PRC citizens may enter and stay in Russia without a visa for up to 30 days for tourism, private or business visits, participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic and sporting events, as well as for transit purposes.
The simplified entry regime does not apply to PRC citizens travelling to Russia for employment, including journalistic activities, education or residence. A visa is also required for drivers, crew members, freight forwarders and carriers engaged in international road transport. Visa-free entry does not exempt foreign nationals from complying with Russian migration-registration requirements or from obtaining the necessary work permits where they actually perform employment duties.
For businesses, the extension of the visa-free regime facilitates short-term visits to Russia by Chinese representatives for negotiations, visits to production facilities, participation in exhibitions and other business events.
