The fine for the imposition of additional services and goods may rise to 1 million rubles. – draft in the State Duma

According to the amendment, an official will pay from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles for the imposition of additional goods, works or services, and a company will pay from 250,000 to 1 million rubles. Currently, fines range from 2,000 to 4,000 rubles for the former, and from 20,000 to 40,000 rubles for the latter.
In particular, we are talking about situations where, contrary to the law,:
prior to the conclusion of the contract, the consumer is informed that in order to purchase basic goods, works or services, additional or other agreements must be purchased;
In the contract, the purchase of basic goods, works, or services is conditional on the mandatory purchase of additional ones.
The change may take effect on September 1, 2025.
Starting from the same date, sellers, aggregator owners, and performers will be prohibited from delivering automatic victim consent notices.
